The Gallo Traditional Lebrillo pays homage to the original alarm clock, the rooster or el gallo. Though the pomegranate known as "granada" in Spanish, is the most prominent motif in this tradition, Fajalauza artists also take inspiration from the pastoral landscape. The design of this large lebrillo features a charming rooster prancing on the base of the bowl. Strolling against a backdrop of a stars, the scene recalls the electric moment at dawn, when the stars fade in the background as morning comes. The walls of the lebrillo are adorned in a geometric motif, from base to rim.
Once a staple of household furnishings, the lebrillo has transcended its utilitarian role to become a symbol of Spanish culture. Beloved as a decorative object, its intricate design and unique shape makes for an eye-catching wall accent.
