Handpainted in southern Spain, these darling bowls retain the singular charm of Fajalauza tradition, a style of ceramics inherited from the Arabs who settled in the region in the 8th century. Though Fajalauza ceramics have evolved away from the strict geometric patterns characteristic of Moorish art, it has retained the vegetal motifs and abstract designs.
This small bowl features the granada or pomegranate, the very symbol of the city that has become synonymous with this ceramic tradition.
