Hand-painted in southern Spain, this curvaceous wine jug is a Spanish version of the oinochoe, a traditional Mediterranean wine jug with a slender handle, round body and small spout.
This pitcher features plump girasoles or sunflowers along its round belly. Pomegranates, smaller flowers and overlapping branches cover the rest of the surface from base to spout. This fecund tableau reminds us of lush Andalusian courtyards.
Hand-crafted in Granada, the ancestral home of Fajalauza ceramics.
