The Blue Arábica Traditional Lebrillo boasts an intricate geometric pattern that covers the entire base while an abstract motif resembling sand dunes cover the walls.
Arabica is a classic example of Fajalauza designs. Descended from the ceramic tradition that thrived in Spain until the expulsion of the Arabs in the 15th century, Fajalauza still maintains that Moorish heritage.
Geometric patterns like Arabica played a pivotal role in Islamic art given that representational art is discouraged. Fajalauza artisans therefore relied on calligraphy, vegetal designs, geometric patterns, and figurative representation as decorative elements.
These forms still inspire our pieces today.
