Once upon a time, radio host Nuria Roca Granell helmed a show called Lo Mejor Que Te Puede Pasar or The Very Best Thing that Could Happen to You), a super ambitious name for a morning set that aired between 6-10 am when most people are dreading getting up and getting to work. I listened to it live sometimes or caught it on replay practically throughout its entire run.
I loved that the team was energetic and funny and they always brought on interesting guests who were enthusiastic and had a sense of humor about their work even that early in the morning.
One day, Cristina Mitre, a magazine editor at ELLE, came on the show.
As usual, they opened with a brief introduction and then asked her “how are you?” and she responded “pletórica.” I understood the word because... “plethora” but I had never heard it used as an adjective.
I’ve been thinking about that word and its meaning ever since. What does it mean to feel pletórica? A person, a landscape or a home can be pletórica – full of life, joy, energy.
Pletórica is plenitude. It’s having enough and enjoying it.
To us, it’s an attitude, it's our personal mission, it’s our hope for you, your family and your home.
May you have plenty; may you recognize it and enjoy it.
